Volvo has unveiled the refreshed version of its flagship sedan, the S90, blending Scandinavian elegance with modern technology and a clear focus on electrification. This latest update elevates the model with a refined design, cutting-edge systems, and enhanced comfort.

Visually, the S90 has evolved with redesigned front and rear ends, striking new color options like Aurora Silver and Mulberry Red, and diamond-cut alloy wheels. The slimmer Thor’s Hammer LED headlights now feature Matrix technology for better illumination, while improved sound insulation and adaptive suspension are now standard.

Inside, the cabin showcases new premium materials and Volvo’s latest-generation infotainment system, centered around a larger 11.2-inch display. Designed for faster response and user-friendly interaction, it also supports over-the-air updates as part of Volvo's unified digital platform.

The S90 is available in two powertrain options: a plug-in hybrid with up to 80 km of electric range under the WLTP cycle, and a mild hybrid with a turbocharged petrol engine. According to Volvo data, nearly half of the distance covered by recent PHEV models is driven on electric power alone.

Sales of the new S90 will begin in China in summer 2025, with other markets to follow. However, due to rising import tariffs on Chinese-built vehicles, Volvo plans to discontinue S90 sales in the U.S. The sedan is produced exclusively at Volvo’s Daqing plant in China, which supplies units for global distribution.

Standard features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind spot monitoring, a panoramic sunroof, and leather upholstery, with high-end extras like the Bowers & Wilkins sound system or Polestar suspension tuning available as options. U.S. trims include B6 Plus, B6 Ultra, T8 Plus, and T8 Ultra.

By refining the S90, Volvo reinforces its commitment to safety, sustainability, and premium driving experience. In a competitive luxury segment, the brand positions itself with advanced technology and flexible offerings tailored to regional demands.
