A RoW-spec 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo is currently offered on Bring a Trailer with no reserve, presenting a notable opportunity for enthusiasts of early 911 Turbo models. Imported to the United States in the 1980s, the car underwent an extensive refurbishment after being acquired by the seller in 2024, with work spanning both cosmetic restoration and major mechanical servicing.
The centerpiece of the project is the exterior restoration. Finished from the factory in Silver Metallic, the body was stripped to bare metal and repainted in 2025. Additional work included refinishing the quarter window trim, replacing window trim and seals, renewing door window seals, and fitting new hood and decklid struts. A paint blemish is disclosed and shown in the listing photos.
Underneath the classic wide-body stance sit staggered 16-inch Fuchs alloy wheels fitted with Pirelli Cinturato P7 tires. The braking system was serviced as part of the refurbishment, including rebuilt calipers, new pads, replaced rotors, and renewed lines. Suspension components were refinished, the spring plates and bushings were replaced, and Bilstein shocks were installed at all four corners.
Inside, the cabin was updated with black leather sport seats installed during the refurbishment. The carpets, headliner, and sunroof seals were replaced, and the sunroof mechanism was rebuilt. A Porsche cassette radio was installed, while several interior components such as door thresholds, strikers, pockets, and hardware were also renewed. The steering wheel was re-covered in 2025, and both the tachometer and boost gauge were recalibrated by North Hollywood Speedometer.
Power comes from a turbocharged 3.3-liter flat-six reportedly rebuilt in 2015 and fitted with a GT35R turbocharger, a TiAL wastegate, ARP rod bolts, 964 3.6L camshafts, and a 964-specification blow-off valve. Under current ownership, the turbocharger and scavenge pump were rebuilt, engine tins were powder coated, and components such as the exhaust system, valve covers, fan, and shroud were refinished. Various seals, gaskets, ignition parts, hoses, and fuel system components were also replaced.
Notably, the fuel distributor and warm-up regulator were rebuilt by CIS Flow Tech in January 2026. A dynamometer test followed in February, and the results are included with the auction documentation.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle paired with an optional limited-slip differential. The transaxle was rebuilt in 2025, and the underside was cleaned during the refurbishment. The sale includes the owner’s manual, a tool kit, parts and service records, and a dyno sheet.
The six-digit odometer shows 61k miles, though total mileage is unknown. The Florida title lists “not actual” under the odometer status, confirming the TMU designation. With its RoW specification, extensive restoration work, and no-reserve format, the listing stands out as a high-profile 930 Turbo offering that could draw strong late-stage bidding interest.
