Porsche 911 Spirit 70 and GT3 Lead Auto Shanghai with Retro Charm and Modern Power

Porsche unveils 911 Spirit 70 and GT3 at Auto Shanghai 2025, blending heritage design with hybrid tech and motorsport precision. Explore the full reveal now.
At the 2025 Auto Shanghai show, Porsche delivered a striking performance that celebrated both its heritage and technological ambition. Taking center stage were two standout models: the 911 Spirit 70 and the 911 GT3 — each offering a unique perspective on the legacy of the iconic 911 series.
The 911 Spirit 70 marks the third entry in Porsche’s Heritage Design collection. This limited-edition car, based on the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, integrates the brand-new T-Hybrid system, featuring an electric turbocharger and a transmission-mounted electric motor. Producing 541 PS, this hybrid setup ensures an instant power response while honoring the vintage charm of the 1970s through its Olive Neo paint and Pascha-patterned interior. Only 1,500 units will be made.
Equally impressive was the return of the 911 GT3 to China. Designed for motorsport purists, the GT3 now boasts advanced aerodynamic tweaks, including a Touring Package that removes the fixed rear wing in favor of an active spoiler and reworked underbody. Customization options like the Weissach package and lightweight magnesium wheels highlight Porsche’s commitment to precision and driver personalization.
Porsche also introduced market-specific Passion and Active editions of the Macan and Cayenne. Tailored for Chinese customers, Passion is an urban-oriented model with expanded standard features, while Active caters to outdoor enthusiasts with rugged styling and off-road capabilities.
Inspired by the Shanghai show stand, a new Porsche brand space will soon open in the heart of the city. Following the Destination Porsche concept, it will serve as a hub for enthusiasts to engage with the brand’s pillars — motorsport, heritage, and customization.
By intertwining classic design with cutting-edge engineering, Porsche continues to define itself not just as a carmaker but as a cultural icon in the automotive world.
