Jeep continues to expand its mission-driven special edition strategy with the introduction of the 2026 Jeep Gladiator Whitecap, the second chapter in the brand’s Convoy campaign following the Shadow Ops version. While the first “mission” leaned into a darker, tactical aesthetic — even offering a factory-installed winch — Whitecap shifts the tone toward heritage, placing Jeep’s visual legacy at the center of the story.

Built on existing Gladiator trims — Sahara, Rubicon, Rubicon X, Mojave and Mojave X — Whitecap adds a distinctive two-tone execution. Key exterior elements include a Bright White painted roof, a matching seven-slot grille, a “1941” side-stripe decal, and, on select trims, a white hood graphic. The theme directly references Jeep’s historical design language and echoes early CJ-Universal models equipped with Arctic White hardtops, reinforcing the brand’s roots dating back to 1941.

Mechanically, the foundation remains unchanged. The Gladiator retains its core capabilities, with a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,720 pounds. Its five-foot steel bed with integrated tie-downs, easy-lift tailgate, removable roof panels and detachable doors continue to define it as the only open-air pickup in its segment. That open-air configuration remains the model’s clearest point of differentiation within the midsize truck class.

Whitecap functions primarily as a design package rather than a standalone technical variant. Its launch coincides with broader updates across the 2026 Gladiator lineup, including an enhanced door hinge system designed for quicker removal, new limited exterior colors, and an expanded range of special editions. In this context, Whitecap fits into a wider strategy focused on increasing customization and perceived value through visual identity and flexibility.

The introduction of Whitecap also comes against the backdrop of Gladiator’s withdrawal from the European market, where Jeep previously marked the end of sales with the FarOut Final Edition. As a result, the new heritage-themed package is positioned primarily for North American customers.

Arriving at dealerships in spring 2026, the Whitecap package carries a starting MSRP of $495, depending on trim and configuration. Rather than redefining the truck’s mechanical architecture, Jeep is reinforcing its narrative — combining contemporary capability with visual cues from its past, and continuing to build emotional resonance around the Gladiator nameplate.
