Air|Water 2025 united Porsche fans with historic cars, new experiences, and news of its first European event.

Last weekend, Costa Mesa, California, hosted the third edition of Air|Water, a festival quickly establishing itself as a key event on Porsche’s calendar. Over 1,000 cars and thousands of guests gathered at the OC Fair & Event Center to experience a celebration where the past, present, and future of the brand blended seamlessly.

Created by Patrick Long and Jeff Zwart, Air|Water aims to unite the entire Porsche world — from lovers of classic air-cooled models to fans of cutting-edge technologies. Unlike Luftgekühlt, which focuses solely on air-cooled vehicles, this event welcomes all enthusiasts without exception.

The highlight of the exhibition was the display of "hero cars," with special attention given to the McLaren MP4/2B — the Formula 1 car powered by a Porsche engine that carried Alain Prost to the 1985 championship title. Other rare gems included the Rothmans-Porsche 911 SC/RS, the Schuppan 962 CR, and the Flying Lizard 911 GT3-RSR driven by Long himself at Le Mans.

Themed areas focused on mid-engine Porsche models, the history of the water-cooled 944 series, and even the brand’s rare tractors. Adding a sense of adventure, the "Action Sports Arena" showcased rally and camping-ready 911s tearing up a dirt track.

A new feature for 2025, the "Carrera Carnival" allowed visitors to experience Porsche’s latest sports cars on a custom-built handling course alongside professional drivers. This initiative marked an important step in engaging new audiences who are curious about the brand but have yet to become owners.

Supported by major partners such as Mobil 1, Porsche Cars North America, Bilstein, Pirelli, and Hagerty, the event radiated a vibrant energy. The Broad Arrow auction, held during the festival, attracted standing-room-only crowds, with highlights like a Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach fetching an impressive $2,865,000.

The next chapter in the Air|Water journey will unfold internationally: on June 13–14, the event will debut in Warsaw. Exhibits from the Porsche Museum have been announced, promising to carry the festival’s unique spirit across the Atlantic.

Air|Water is steadily becoming a global gathering point for those who appreciate the art, engineering, and soul of Porsche, nurturing a new generation of brand enthusiasts.
