Bentley unveils unique Koa wood surfboard in collaboration with Marnie Rays and Otter Surfboards

Bentley teams up with Marnie Rays and Otter Surfboards to create a Koa wood surfboard, blending craftsmanship, adventure, and sustainability.
Bentley Motors continues to redefine the meaning of luxury through the lens of sustainability and craftsmanship. In collaboration with Marnie Rays and Otter Surfboards, the British automaker unveiled a unique handcrafted surfboard, made using rare Hawaiian Koa veneer carefully selected at Bentley’s woodshop in Crewe.
The project embodies the spirit of adventure and pursuit of excellence. Lindsey Holland, founder of Marnie Rays — a boutique retreat in Cornwall — and James Otter, the craftsman behind Otter Surfboards, personally selected the materials under the expert guidance of Bentley’s specialists. Inspired by the traditional Hawaiian surfboards, they created a piece that bridges history, modern craftsmanship, and ecological responsibility.
The creation process was captured in a short film, starting at Bentley’s headquarters, continuing in Otter’s workshop, and culminating among the waves on the Cornish coast. The Bentley Bentayga Extended Wheelbase featured in the film, serving as a link between the workshop and the ocean, highlighting the theme of freedom and exploration.
The surfboard was officially unveiled at a private event hosted by Marnie Rays. Following the presentation, it will be donated to Surfability UK, a charity that provides adaptive surfing experiences for people with disabilities, to be auctioned in support of their mission.
This project not only showcases Bentley’s craftsmanship but also aligns with its Beyond100+ strategy, aiming for sustainable development and full electrification by 2030. The use of sustainable materials, support for inclusive initiatives, and focus on long-term values underline Bentley’s commitment to harmonizing tradition with the future.
