Mercedes prepares for 2025 Miami GP with technical upgrades, adidas collab, and Doriane Pin’s F1 Academy return. Sprint format adds to the intensity.

Miami returns to the Formula One spotlight as the sixth round of the 2025 season promises intensity both on and off the track. The Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team arrives in Florida with ambition and technical upgrades, looking to rebound from a challenging Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Despite never having won in Miami, the team isn’t short on determination.

Since its debut in 2022, the Miami Grand Prix has established itself as one of the calendar’s most dynamic events. The race winds around the Hard Rock Stadium, home to the Miami Dolphins and the Miami Open tennis tournament. For the second year running, Miami features the Sprint format: Friday brings practice and sprint qualifying, Saturday includes the sprint race and full qualifying, and Sunday hosts the main event.

For Mercedes, the weekend offers a chance to reset. Learning from the heat and tyre conditions in Jeddah, the team is hopeful these familiar variables can help deliver more consistent performance. Updates heading into the weekend — notably a redesigned floor — aim to improve aerodynamic efficiency and potentially shake up the midfield battle.

But it’s not just about performance. Mercedes has launched a special edition collaboration with adidas to mark the Miami Grand Prix. The collection features Barreda Decode, Adilette Slide, and the iconic Superstar shoes in unisex sizing — reflecting the team’s embrace of urban culture. The release complements a wider schedule of events spanning film screenings, tech forums, and partner showcases.

Doriane Pin, the 2024 F1 Academy runner-up, will also be on the grid with a bespoke Miami-themed livery. Representing Iron Dames and Mercedes’ junior program, her presence reinforces the team’s support for women in motorsport and highlights the growing visibility of the Academy series.

While a podium in Miami remains elusive, the data suggests untapped promise: Mercedes has logged over 1,800 laps and more than 10,000 kilometers so far this season. With renewed focus, technical gains, and a city pulsing with energy, Miami could mark a turning point in the Silver Arrows’ 2025 campaign.
