Alfa Romeo tops AUTO BILD Germany’s 2025 Best Brands contest in midsize, SUV, and overall design categories, chosen by 40,000 readers.

In 2025, Alfa Romeo once again proved its reputation for exceptional design by securing three prestigious awards in the annual AUTO BILD Germany “Best Brands in All Classes” contest. The Italian brand earned top honors in three distinct categories: “midsize segment,” “midsize SUVs,” and overall design. This recognition is not a coincidence but the result of consistent work on form, style, and character that resonates with the discerning German audience.

Approximately 40,000 readers of AUTO BILD and BILD took part in the survey, evaluating over 40 car brands based on key criteria such as design, powertrains, driver assistance systems, and sportiness. Alfa Romeo’s design stood out once again, reaffirming a trend seen over recent years where the brand frequently leads aesthetic rankings.

In the “midsize segment” category, readers singled out the Giulia sedan, known for its sporty cues and refined lines. In the “midsize SUV” class, the bold and distinctive Stelvio secured the top spot. Germany also hosts the more compact Tonale and all-electric Junior, both contributing to Alfa Romeo’s evolving design story.

Christine Schulze Tergeist, Managing Director of Stellantis Premium Brands Germany, highlighted that being recognized across such varied segments shows the versatility of Alfa Romeo’s design language and the talent of the Centro Stile Alfa Romeo team, based in Turin. It is there that the brand’s visual DNA is shaped—from the iconic grille to its expressive lighting signature.

The “Best Brands” contest has been running for 14 years and is considered one of Germany’s most credible indicators of consumer perception. Alfa Romeo’s triumph in core design categories signals not only a current success but also a sustained fascination among German drivers for Italian aesthetics that combine emotion with engineering precision.
