Honda Marine Introduces True 5 Year Limited Rigging Warranty for 2026 Models
Honda Marine announced a True 5 Year Limited Rigging Warranty, extending factory-backed five-year coverage to key rigging components for 2026 models U.S.
Honda Marine has introduced the new True 5 Year Limited Rigging Warranty, extending its well-known True 5 factory warranty beyond outboard engines to include key rigging components and systems. The coverage applies to new package boat sales and repower packages purchased on or after January 1, 2026.
In practical terms, the move broadens protection across the entire propulsion setup. Covered components include controls, control cables, wiring harnesses, gauges, switches, tiller handles and displays — the elements that connect the helm to the engine and ensure reliable on-water operation. Like the standard True 5 program, the new rigging warranty runs for five full years, features non-declining coverage, and remains fully transferable to a subsequent owner.
True 5 has long been positioned in the U.S. market as a factory-direct warranty rather than a third-party service contract. The same principle applies to the expanded rigging coverage, reinforcing Honda Marine’s emphasis on manufacturer-backed protection for recreational use.
The launch coincides with the Buyer’s Choice Sales Event, running from January 5 through March 30, 2026. During the promotion, customers purchasing select outboards from BF40 to BF350 can choose between instant savings of up to $10,000 or a no-cost 36-month HondaCare Protection Plan. Under the latter option, total protection can extend to as much as eight years, depending on program terms.
By adding rigging components to its five-year factory warranty, Honda Marine shifts the focus toward broader system reliability and long-term ownership confidence. In a competitive landscape where base coverage often starts at three years with optional extensions, a five-year manufacturer-backed structure — supplemented by promotional protection plans — strengthens the brand’s value proposition heading into the new boating season.
