Porsche has opened its sixth exclusive Charging Lounge near Stuttgart, featuring 400 kW charging, lounge amenities, and sustainable design.

The sixth Porsche Charging Lounge has opened its doors in Leonberg, near Stuttgart, adding a new chapter to the brand’s fast-charging infrastructure. Strategically positioned near the A8 and A81 autobahn interchange, the new station is well-suited for both vacationers and business travelers heading in all directions, with Stuttgart and Pforzheim only a short drive away.

This is more than just another charging point. The Leonberg Charging Lounge delivers up to 400 kW of charging power—enabling a Porsche Taycan, for example, to go from 10% to 80% state of charge in just 18 minutes. But performance is only part of the story. Designed in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche, the site emphasizes sustainability: modules are constructed using wood, steel, and stone, assembled with renewable electricity. A smart energy management system dims lights and optimizes power usage when the lounge is unoccupied.

The interior offers more than convenience—it aims for comfort. Visitors find soft chairs, a coffee machine, a curated selection of drinks and snacks, powerful Wi-Fi, and a countryside view. Outside seating includes built-in speakers, enhancing the premium experience. Access is granted via a Porsche ID, with options like QR code, Porsche Charging Card, or automatic license plate recognition if the plate is linked in the My Porsche app.

The Leonberg facility isn’t a stand-alone project. It’s part of a broader sustainability strategy within the Volkswagen Group. The modules are produced in Baden-Württemberg, and energy is supplemented with rooftop solar panels and heat pumps. Porsche continues to expand this network, with lounges already operating in Hamburg, Ingolstadt, Bingen, Estenfeld, and Koblach, Austria.

Supporting this infrastructure is the Porsche Charging Service Plus, which integrates access to over 900,000 charging points across Europe. Preferred partner networks like Aral pulse and IONITY are included, with Porsche customers receiving reduced rates—for instance, €0.39 per kWh at Aral pulse, compared to the usual €0.69.

It’s important to note: the lounges remain exclusive to Porsche owners. At this time, EVs from other brands are not permitted to charge at these stations.

In the end, Porsche isn’t just selling electric mobility—it’s crafting a tailored ecosystem around it. With every lounge like Leonberg, the brand underscores a vision where technology, comfort, and sustainability coalesce into a refined, premium experience.
