Porsche Juniors dominate Spa race as Ghiretti takes commanding win

Alessandro Ghiretti won the Spa-Francorchamps race in the 2025 Carrera Cup. Oeverhaus and Levi followed, marking a strong Porsche Junior podium.
The third race of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland 2025 at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit became a true showcase of rising talent from the Porsche Junior Programme. Alessandro Ghiretti of France, driving for Schumacher CLRT, delivered a flawless lights-to-flag victory, finishing nearly seven seconds ahead of his closest rival.
While competitors fought among themselves, Ghiretti maintained a steady pace and executed a faultless 13-lap performance. "My mechanics gave me a perfect car today—I just did my job," he noted post-race. His dominance began in qualifying, where both he and teammate Flynt Schuring secured the front row for Schumacher CLRT.
German junior Theo Oeverhaus of Bonk Motorsport started third but moved into second after the first corner, overtaking Schuring. From there, positions remained static. Oeverhaus spent the race under pressure from Ariel Levi of Israel, representing GP Elite. Levi appeared quicker in clean air but lacked an opportunity to attack.
For Levi, third place marked a significant milestone. Now in only his second full season, he’s clearly establishing himself as a contender. His teammates at GP Elite—Huub van Eijndhoven and Kas Haverkort—also finished in the top five, reinforcing the team's growing strength in the standings.
Mikel Azcona of Spain, a familiar face from WTCR and TCR Europe, completed the top six. Competing with Hadeca Racing, Azcona has been consistently inside the top 10, showing steady form in his Carrera Cup debut season.
This race not only highlighted the strength of the Porsche Junior Programme but also signaled increasing pressure from rivals like GP Elite. The championship remains wide open—especially with tomorrow’s race on the horizon, where Schuring and Ghiretti will once again start from the front row, this time in reverse order.
