Mercedes-Maybach SL 680 Monogram Series Launches with PixelPaint and V8 Power

Mercedes-Maybach presents its most dynamic model, the SL 680 Monogram Series, with PixelPaint design, V8 engine, and luxury interior. European sales begin.
Mercedes-Maybach has stepped beyond traditional luxury to unveil the most dynamic vehicle in its history — the SL 680 Monogram Series. This new roadster merges the spirit of the SL-Class with the handcrafted refinement and comfort synonymous with the Maybach name. The model’s very title hints at its mission: individuality, precision, and open-air grandeur.
Debuting in spring 2025, the SL 680 is already available for order in Europe, with a base price of €255,850 in Germany, signaling its flagship position among high-end convertibles.
The SL 680 is not just about performance — it makes a strong visual statement. Buyers can choose between two curated design themes: White Ambience and Red Ambience. Both feature intricate two-tone MANUFAKTUR paint schemes, supported by over 50 exclusive colors. For the first time in Maybach history, the body can be adorned with a bespoke pattern applied using the groundbreaking PixelPaint technology — a process inspired by inkjet printing that enables precise design application while reducing emissions.
The theme of personal expression continues inside the cabin. The interior is dressed in crystal white MANUFAKTUR Exclusive Nappa leather, sustainably tanned and accented with chrome finishes. New seat designs and meticulous trim work provide a cocoon-like experience steeped in sophistication.
Under the hood lies a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 delivering 585 hp, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive. The SL 680 sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds. With semi-active hydraulic roll stabilization and rear-axle steering, the vehicle offers both agile handling and exceptional ride quality. Despite its athletic stance, the SL surprises with its acoustic serenity — noise insulation and a specially tuned exhaust system bring flagship-level quietness to a convertible format.
The SL 680 Monogram Series is more than a detour — it’s a deliberate move toward bespoke emotional luxury. It may well mark the beginning of a new chapter for Maybach: one that embraces performance without sacrificing elegance. Early demand and the model’s rollout in multiple markets suggest the world is ready for this kind of evolution.
