Nissan Patrol and Nissan Armada have received the prestigious iF Design Award 2026 in the Product / Automotive discipline, according to the official iF winners database.

Founded in 1954, the iF Design Award is regarded as one of the world’s most respected design competitions. In 2026, winners were selected by an independent jury of 129 international design and sustainability experts, who evaluated entries based on five criteria: idea, form, function, differentiation and sustainability.

The Patrol and Armada represent the seventh generation of Nissan’s flagship SUV. The official project description highlights a blend of advanced technology and Japanese precision, emphasizing craftsmanship and attention to detail. Signature styling elements include the “Double-C” lighting motifs and the bold V-motion grille, reinforcing a distinct visual identity.

Technically, the new generation introduces updated powertrains. In Middle Eastern specifications, the Patrol is available with a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 425 hp and 700 Nm, as well as a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V6 delivering 316 hp and 386 Nm. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. In North America, the Armada features a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 rated at 425 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque, also matched to a 9-speed automatic gearbox.

The global debut of the new Patrol took place in Abu Dhabi, where Nissan highlighted features such as adaptive air suspension and advanced driver assistance systems. The North American lineup includes the off-road-focused PRO-4X variant, while the Patrol range also features a NISMO version rated at 495 hp in Sport mode.

The iF database lists the project launch year as 2024 and identifies target markets including Asia, Australia and Oceania, Europe and North America. The award therefore recognizes a model positioned for global impact.

Receiving the iF Design Award underscores Nissan’s current design direction at an international level. With the seventh generation of Patrol and Armada, the brand presents a flagship SUV that combines scale, technology and a clearly defined visual character.
