A rare Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition based on the Mercedes-AMG SL63 is listed on Bring a Trailer. The limited 1-of-25 roadster features 750 hp and extensive Brabus upgrades.

A rare 2022 Mercedes-AMG SL63 Brabus 750 Bodo Buschmann Edition has appeared on the Bring a Trailer auction platform, offering collectors a chance to acquire one of just 25 cars built worldwide. At the time of writing, bidding had reached $150,000, with a little more than a day remaining before the auction closes.

The special edition was unveiled by Brabus in July 2023 as a tribute to the company’s founder, Bodo Buschmann. The project reflects the philosophy of the man who transformed a small tuning workshop in Bottrop into one of the most recognized high-performance Mercedes-Benz specialists in the world. Every car in the series follows a distinctive design concept known as “triple black”, where black dominates the body, trim and overall visual identity.

The model is based on the Mercedes-AMG SL63 of the R232 generation, but Brabus extensively reworked the mechanical package. The twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 received the company’s PowerXtra B40S-750 upgrade, which includes revised turbochargers and updated engine management. Output rises to 750 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. According to Brabus, the roadster accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in around 3.3 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 315 km/h.

Beyond the engine upgrades, the car carries a full range of signature Brabus design and performance elements. These include carbon-fiber aerodynamic components, a titanium sport exhaust system and the brand’s iconic Monoblock II Evo wheels measuring 21 inches at the front and 22 inches at the rear. The wheel design traces its visual roots to Brabus styling themes dating back to the 1980s. The AMG Ride Control suspension is complemented by a Brabus lowering module allowing height adjustments of up to about 23 millimeters, while braking is handled by carbon-ceramic discs.

Inside, every Bodo Buschmann Edition features the Brabus Masterpiece interior. The cabin is finished in black Nappa leather with the distinctive R-Sport quilting pattern, described by the company as one of Buschmann’s preferred styles. Carbon-fiber trim elements appear on the steering wheel, dashboard, center console and door panels, while embroidered Brabus logos are integrated into the seats and headrests. A plaque on the center console confirms the car’s status as “1 of 25.”

The example currently offered on Bring a Trailer was acquired new by its owner and shows just under 1,700 miles. The listing includes manufacturer documentation, a Brabus invoice detailing installed components and a car cover. According to the listing, the documented cost of the vehicle after the Brabus conversion totaled roughly $415,000, including the factory MSRP of about $211,000 for the base SL63. The Carfax report mentioned in the listing indicates no recorded accidents or damage.

Cars produced by Brabus in limited numbers often attract collector interest, and the Bodo Buschmann Edition represents one of the most exclusive interpretations of the modern SL63. Its extremely limited production, symbolic connection to the company’s founder and extensive mechanical upgrades help explain why the auction has drawn the attention of more than a thousand watchers on the platform.
