Alfa Romeo presents the 33 Stradale in a rare 33-unit run, combining heritage design, track-tested engineering, and handcrafted precision.

The Balocco Proving Ground has once again become the stage for a pivotal moment in Alfa Romeo's modern legacy — the unveiling and testing of the new 33 Stradale. Limited to just 33 units, this model is not merely a tribute to the iconic 1967 original but a bold reinterpretation for the 21st century, blending engineering precision, visceral performance, and artisanal craftsmanship.

A curated experience for a small group of international experts unfolded across three distinct phases: high-speed testing of the “00 prototype,” bespoke customization at the Bottega Alfa Romeo, and a deep dive into the production process, where Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera transforms technical visions into rolling works of art.

On the historic asphalt of Balocco, participants were treated to the full force of the car’s 630-hp twin-turbo V6 engine, launching from 0 to 100 km/h in under three seconds. Despite such figures, the car’s composure and control — aided by its carbon-fiber monocoque, aluminum H-frame, and advanced suspension — made it approachable even for non-professional drivers. The toggle between “Strada” and “Pista” modes showcased its dual character, from refined road cruiser to track-hardened machine. Notably, the “Partenza Veloce” launch system allowed for explosive acceleration without wheelspin.

Inside the Bottega Alfa Romeo, personalization became an artform. Customers — including Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas — engaged directly in selecting materials and color palettes, crafting one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Bottas described the experience as “total symbiosis” with the car, emphasizing the intuitive feedback, razor-sharp steering, and signature engine soundtrack that elevated every corner into a moment of pure emotion.

The production process itself, managed in partnership with Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, is a showcase of Italian artisanal excellence. From the carbon shell and triple-layer paintwork to millimeter-precise panel alignment and finishing, each of the 33 Stradales is assembled with obsessive attention to detail. Final checks by Alfa Romeo engineers and Touring experts ensure every vehicle meets the highest standards before delivery.

The first customer handover took place on December 17, 2024 — exactly 58 years after designer Franco Scaglione was tasked with the original 33 Stradale. The date serves as a poignant bridge between past and future, underlining the model’s symbolic and emotional significance.

Recognized by multiple awards, including “Supercar of the Year” and the “Design Concept Award,” the 33 Stradale is more than a car. It is a declaration of intent, embodying Alfa Romeo’s commitment to beauty, innovation, and heritage. Every line and bolt of this rare machine tells a story — one of legacy, evolution, and excellence.
