The new Volkswagen Tayron achieved a 5-star Euro NCAP rating, confirming its advanced safety systems and commitment to road safety.

The new Volkswagen Tayron has made a striking entrance onto the automotive stage, earning the highest five-star rating in the Euro NCAP safety tests. This accolade is not just a badge of engineering excellence—it underscores Volkswagen’s long-term commitment to protecting all road users, from drivers and passengers to pedestrians and cyclists.

Euro NCAP’s evaluation covered four key areas: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, vulnerable road user safety, and the effectiveness of driver assistance systems. The Tayron performed admirably in all categories, confirming its strong safety credentials both in terms of passive and active systems.

Volkswagen has equipped even the base version of the Tayron with an impressive array of safety features. Standard systems include Autonomous Emergency Braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with stop & go functionality, blind spot monitoring, predictive speed limiter, and a driver fatigue alert system. Features like Front Cross Traffic Assist and Exit Warning add further layers of prevention and support.

In terms of passive safety, the SUV includes a full suite of airbags—front, side, curtain, and a front center airbag—alongside optimized head restraints and ISOFIX mounts, including on the front passenger seat. These features make it well-suited for family use, ensuring protection across all age groups.

Sitting between the Tiguan and Touareg in Volkswagen’s lineup, the Tayron delivers more space and flexibility, including an optional third row of seats. It offers a well-judged balance of utility, comfort, and technology, making it a compelling option in the midsize SUV segment.

The plug-in hybrid variant offers an electric driving range of up to 127 kilometers, thanks to its 19.7 kWh battery. With up to 40 kW charging capacity, it’s equipped for both short commutes and longer journeys with ease.

Produced in Wolfsburg, Germany, the Tayron is primarily aimed at the European and Chinese markets. Experts anticipate strong demand, especially amid growing interest in safe, spacious, and tech-forward SUVs. Now open for orders, the Tayron stands as a new benchmark in accessible automotive safety, backed by its top-tier Euro NCAP rating.
