BMW M4 CS VR46 honors Valentino Rossi with exclusive editions

BMW reveals M4 CS VR46 in two exclusive 46-car series designed with Valentino Rossi, featuring unique styling, handcrafted finishes, and a personal experience.

BMW has unveiled the limited-edition M4 CS Edition VR46 — a result of a unique collaboration with motorsport legend Valentino Rossi. This release marks Rossi’s 46th birthday and merges technical precision with the personal style that has defined “The Doctor” throughout his career.

Two variants — Sport and Style — are each limited to 46 units, with Rossi’s direct involvement shaping their distinctive appearance. His iconic number 46, which accompanied him throughout his racing journey, is prominently featured across the bodywork and carbon-fibre roof, which also bears his signature.

The cars were built at BMW’s Dingolfing plant, where the intricate paint process required up to 20 hours of meticulous handwork per vehicle. The multi-stage procedure included applying a special primer, sanding, positioning stencils, hand-layering of color, and a final clear coat polish to ensure a flawless surface. The bonnet and carbon roof were manufactured at BMW’s Landshut facility.

Inside, the design continues with a dominant Night Blue theme offset by striking yellow accents on the bucket seats, steering wheel, and detailing. A “1/46” badge on the centre console and VR46 logos on the headrests and door sills highlight the car’s exclusivity.

The model’s unique status is further emphasized by an extraordinary customer experience: each buyer is invited to meet Valentino Rossi at his private VR46 Motor Ranch in Tavullia and participate in a BMW M Driving Experience at the Misano circuit. More than just a purchase, this is an immersive journey into Rossi’s racing world and BMW M’s performance ethos.

Powered by 550 hp, the vehicle is built on the proven M4 CS platform, equipped with all-wheel drive and adaptive suspension for a precise blend of agility and control.
