2026 Toyota RAV4 Unveiled: Fully Electrified, New Styles and GR SPORT

Toyota launches the all-new 2026 RAV4 with HEV and PHEV powertrains, new GR SPORT and Woodland editions, and advanced software platform Arene.
Toyota has unveiled the all-new sixth-generation RAV4, signaling a bold step toward full electrification. From now on, every RAV4 will be available exclusively as a Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) or Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
The new model introduces three distinct design styles—Core, Rugged, and Sport—with notable highlights like the outdoor-ready Woodland and the performance-focused GR SPORT. The latter, developed with input from Toyota GAZOO Racing, delivers not only a striking look but also a powerful drive: 320 hp and standard all-wheel drive.
Meanwhile, the Woodland grade emphasizes off-road readiness. With increased ground clearance, all-terrain tires, roof rails, and a rear-mounted activity hitch, it’s built for those who venture beyond the pavement.
Under the hood, key innovations define this generation. The HEV models now feature Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, raising AWD output to 236 hp. The revamped PHEV setup includes a larger battery and advanced silicon carbide semiconductors, extending the electric-only range to an estimated 50 miles—a 20% boost over the previous version.
But it’s not just about mechanics. The new RAV4 debuts Arene, a software development platform created by Woven by Toyota. This system underpins the next-gen infotainment suite and the updated Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, offering enhanced connectivity, security, and user interaction.
Inside, the RAV4 brings a blend of comfort and tech-savvy design. A restructured center console, 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, new touchscreen interfaces, and improved voice assistant redefine daily usability with a modern touch.
Each trim has its flair. The GR SPORT comes with a dedicated suspension, exclusive Functional MATRIX grille, and BRIN•NAUB® microsuede seating with GR branding. The Woodland version features the new Urban Rock paint, unique perforated cabin surfaces, and all-weather branded mats built for adventure.
The 2026 RAV4 retains its adventurous spirit, but it’s now intertwined with future-forward technology and purposeful engineering. Sales are expected to begin before the end of March 2026, though pricing details remain under wraps.
