BMW presents Concept Speedtop at Villa d’Este 2025—three-door shooting brake with bespoke design and most powerful V8. Limited to 70 units.

At the shores of Lake Como, where the renowned Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este takes place each year, BMW has once again captured attention with the debut of a concept crafted for a limited production run — the BMW Concept Speedtop. This three-door reinterpretation of the classic Touring blends the sporty charm of a shooting brake with an exceptional level of craftsmanship and design detail.

The Speedtop’s silhouette immediately stands out: a pronounced V-shaped front end, shark-nose styling, slim headlights, and an illuminated kidney grille all contribute to its unmistakable identity. A striking roof gradient, shifting from deep Floating Sunstone Maroon to Floating Sundown Silver, reinforces the impression of motion even when the car is at rest. The look is completed by bespoke two-tone, 14-spoke wheels designed exclusively for this model.

Inside, the concept extends the exterior's aesthetic into a space defined by tradition and individuality. Every element reflects a high level of artisanal effort: brogue-style perforated leather trim, a dual-tone color palette of Sundown Maroon and Moonstone White, and a subtle light strip integrated along the central headliner spline that mirrors the exterior’s roof beam. A highlight of the interior is a pair of handcrafted luggage pieces from Italian leather specialists Schedoni, custom-designed to match the car’s materials and colors, emphasizing the idea of bespoke luxury.

Under the hood lies the most powerful V8 engine currently offered by BMW. While exact specifications have not been publicly disclosed, the same power unit was previously featured in the BMW Skytop — a roadster revealed at Villa d’Este in 2024, also in a limited run. According to BMW, the success of the Skytop directly influenced the decision to launch the Speedtop, this time limited to 70 units.

Both the Skytop and Speedtop represent BMW’s evolving direction in exclusive automotive design. While the Skytop paid homage to classic icons like the Z8 and 503, the Speedtop looks ahead with its contemporary take on luxury and collectability. BMW has long used the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este as a platform for these bold design statements, having been the official event organizer since the late 1990s.

In an era where demand for unique and limited models continues to grow, the BMW Concept Speedtop stands as more than a stylistic exercise — it’s a measured probe into the collector market. Orders are now being accepted, and with early leaks already sparking buzz before the official reveal, it’s likely that all 70 units will be claimed in short order.
