BMW unveils M2 CS, Concept Speedtop, and Motorrad RR at Concorso d’Eleganza 2025

BMW revealed the M2 CS, Concept Speedtop, and Motorrad RR during Villa d’Este 2025, celebrating heritage with exhibitions and design milestones.
Against the enchanting backdrop of Lake Como, the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2025 once again brought together engineering heritage and artistic beauty in a celebration of classic motoring. The prestigious “Best of Show” award was claimed by the 1934 Alfa Romeo Tipo B (P3), a trailblazing single-seater Grand Prix car designed by Vittorio Jano and presented by the German Auriga Collection.
This historic racer, hailed as one of the earliest true single-seaters, redefined the concept of competitive automotive design. The award ceremony saw the car’s owner honored by Helmut Käs, Head of BMW Group Classic, and Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne. As part of the prize, the owner received a unique 1815 Chronograph in white gold, created specifically for the event by the prestigious watchmaker.
Public acclaim went to the 1957 BMW 507, a paragon of mid-century automotive elegance. The “Coppa d’Oro Villa d’Este” was awarded to this icon, presented by Dirk de Groen from the United States. With its sculpted bodywork and potent 3.2-liter V8, the roadster still holds a revered place in BMW’s design legacy.
BMW used the occasion to unveil three world premieres: the M2 CS, a high-performance production model; the Concept Speedtop, a coachbuilt three-door shooting brake; and the Motorrad Concept RR, previewing BMW’s next-generation superbike platform.
Honoring its history, the brand showcased a unique collection in the “BMW Mille Miglia Icons” exhibit, commemorating 85 years since the 1940 victory in the legendary Italian endurance race. Surviving original BMW 328s stood as proud testaments to that triumph.
Meanwhile, 70 years of BMW Isetta and 50 years of the 3 Series were celebrated with model retrospectives and a vibrant historic parade. The exhibition also featured Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger, a bespoke homage to the 1964 James Bond film, and Art Car No. 13 — a BMW M3 GTR adorned with the expressionist portraits of Sandro Chia.
Public Days at Villa Erba drew crowds for the “Amici & Automobili – Wheels & Weisswürscht” gathering of car clubs and enthusiasts from across Europe. The weekend culminated in a landmark BMW-only auction hosted by Broad Arrow, spotlighting models from across the marque’s storied past.
In a gesture of community, proceeds from Saturday’s ticket sales and an additional contribution from BMW Group Classic were donated to two kindergartens in the town of Cernobbio, reinforcing the event’s broader cultural resonance. More than a show, Villa d’Este 2025 reaffirmed itself as a vibrant conversation between the past, present, and future of mobility.
