Mercedes Vision V debuts in Dubai, showcasing future VLS luxury van

Mercedes-Benz unveils Vision V in Dubai, previewing the luxurious VLS MPV with “Private Lounge” interior and VAN.EA platform set to launch in 2026.
The Mercedes-Benz Vision V has made its international debut in Dubai, just a month after its world premiere in Shanghai. This marks the beginning of its global tour — a journey that sets the stage for what could be a new era of luxury vans. Far from being a mere design study, the Vision V offers a concrete glimpse into the future of the brand’s top-end model: the upcoming VLS.
At the heart of the Vision V lies an interior designed with a “Private Lounge” concept in mind. With crystal-white nappa leather, glossy silk elements, open-pore walnut wood, and polished aluminum accents, the material choices speak directly to a clientele accustomed to the highest standards. Technology is equally impressive: a 65-inch 4K screen doubles as both a partition and a cinema display, supported by a 42-speaker audio system and seven integrated projectors, delivering an immersive onboard experience.
The Vision V is built on the new modular VAN.EA platform, which will underpin all future Mercedes vans starting in 2026. This scalable architecture is designed to clearly separate private models like the VLE and VLS from commercial transporters. The VLS, in particular, is poised to define its own segment — one that merges the grandeur of a limousine with the utility of an MPV. Production is slated to begin in Vitoria, Spain.
Industry analysts suggest that the VLS will enter a competitive field alongside models like the Lexus LM350h, Toyota Alphard, and Buick GL8 Avenir. However, Mercedes-Benz seems confident that its blend of technological sophistication and design excellence will carve out a niche for what it calls a "penthouse on wheels" — an MPV reimagined for the elite.
With the Vision V, Mercedes-Benz signals more than a shift in design; it marks a transformation in philosophy — one where luxury and space are no longer at odds, but elegantly entwined.
