BMW M Motorsport celebrates class wins and standings lead at Monza

BMW secured Gold and Silver Cup wins at Monza, retained lead in GT World Challenge Europe standings, and looks ahead to the 24 Hours of Spa.
At the legendary Temple of Speed in Monza, BMW M Motorsport delivered one of its strongest performances of the 2025 GT World Challenge Europe season. With class wins, strategic finesse, and continued dominance in the overall standings, the weekend marked a pivotal chapter in their championship campaign.
In the Gold Cup, the 777 BMW M4 GT3 EVO of AlManar Racing by WRT, driven by Jens Klingmann, Al Faisal Al Zubair, and Ben Tuck, surged from seventh on the grid to claim a commanding victory. Clever strategy paid off midway through the three-hour race, and from that point forward, the trio never looked back. It was their second consecutive podium after finishing third at Le Castellet, and for Klingmann, it marked a return to success at Monza, where he took the overall win just a year earlier.
The Silver Cup brought another moment of triumph. Century Motorsport’s Jarrod Waberski, William Moore, and Mex Jansen battled their BMW teammates from Team WRT in a thrilling fight for class honours. In the end, Century emerged on top, while Cheli, Bergström, and Stadsbader secured second place, delivering a BMW one-two finish.
Not all BMW squads shared in the celebration. ROWE Racing endured a frustrating Sunday as their #98 car (Farfus, Krohn, Marciello) fell victim to poorly timed full course yellow conditions and a congested pit lane. Their challenge ended in retirement following a midfield collision.
Meanwhile, in the Pro Cup, the 32 WRT BMW of Weerts, van der Linde, and de Wilde climbed from 11th to fifth overall, finishing fourth in class. Those valuable points helped the trio retain their lead in the drivers’ championship, while Team WRT also stayed ahead in the team standings after their win at the season opener.
All eyes now turn to the iconic 24 Hours of Spa, set for late June. With momentum building and recent experience on the Ardennes circuit from May’s FIA WEC round, BMW heads into the season’s biggest race with confidence—and expectations.
