BMW XM Label introduced as most powerful M model with new design and tech

BMW unveils XM Label with V8 hybrid, new color options, enhanced interior, and 11 kW charging. Debuts June 14 at 24 Hours of Le Mans.
BMW is streamlining its flagship XM range, trimming it to just two plug-in hybrid variants — the XM Label and XM 50e. The move signals a focus on refinement and strength, shedding redundancy in favor of sharper identity and clearer performance tiers.
The XM Label now stands alone as the only variant to feature a V8 hybrid drivetrain. Its numbers are impressive: 748 horsepower, 1,000 Nm of torque, and a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 3.8 seconds. With the optional M Driver’s Package, the electronically limited top speed rises from 250 to 290 km/h. This makes the XM Label the most powerful production BMW M vehicle ever built.
Meanwhile, the XM 50e remains unchanged — equipped with an electrified straight-six engine and capable of up to 86 kilometers of electric range, it provides a more balanced approach to efficiency and luxury.
Visually, the XM Label has evolved. A new optional Frozen Tanzanite Blue paint finish adds richness to the exterior, complemented by high-gloss black grille accents and a striking new Welcome Light Animation that comes alive at night. Standard 21-inch wheels have been replaced with larger 22-inch alloys, while 23-inch black wheels are now available as an option.
Inside, BMW introduces new materials and color palettes. The cabin can now be dressed in BMW Individual Night Blue Merino leather, or combinations such as Black with Vintage Coffee inserts or Silverstone with contrasting black. Matching comfort cushions now come as standard with all Merino leather options.
The car’s charging system also gets a boost: the Combined Charging Unit now supports AC charging at up to 11 kW, reflecting BMW’s steady push toward everyday practicality in its electrified models.
Adding a creative layer to the car’s identity, British DJ Carl Cox collaborated with BMW M to produce an original track composed from the actual sounds of the XM — the deep growl of the V8, the Welcome chime, and even the thump of the closing hood. The result is as confident and extroverted as the vehicle itself.
The refreshed XM Label will make its public debut on June 14, 2025, at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where BMW M Motorsport will also compete with the M Hybrid V8 prototype.
