The roar of an Alfa Romeo once again echoed across Italy’s scenic roads as the legendary 1000 Miglia returned for its 43rd edition in 2025. Widely hailed as “the most beautiful race in the world,” this historical re-enactment delivered a spectacular celebration of automotive heritage—and Alfa Romeo stood proudly at its heart.

Taking the top step of the podium was the 1929 Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 Super Sport, piloted by the masterful duo Andrea Vesco and Fabio Salvinelli, racing for Team Villa Trasqua. This victory marked their fifth consecutive win in the modern Mille Miglia—a testament to their skill and dominance in the world of historic rallies.

Even more striking was the clean sweep of the podium by Alfa Romeo. Second place went to the 6C 1500 SS, driven by Argentina’s Erejomovich – Llanos, while third was claimed by the 6C 1750 GS Spider Zagato, manned by Tonconogy – Ruffini. These models—steeped in the engineering genius of the pre-war era—once again proved their place in racing history.

Yet, 1000 Miglia is more than a trip down memory lane; it’s also a look toward the future. This year, Alfa Romeo fielded its latest production models as support vehicles, seamlessly blending past and present. Among them: the all-wheel-drive Junior Hybrid Q4, the special-edition Giulia Quadrifoglio Super Sport commemorating the brand’s first Mille Miglia victory, the bold Stelvio Intensa, and the stylish Tonale SUV.

One of the event’s most talked-about moments was the dynamic road debut of the new 33 Stradale—a modern reinterpretation of one of Alfa Romeo’s most iconic cars. Limited to just 33 handcrafted units, it was developed in partnership with coachbuilder Touring Superleggera and embodied a powerful blend of artistry, performance, and heritage.

Also stealing hearts was the 1956 Alfa Romeo 1900 Super Sprint, brought to life by the Luna Rossa team—Italy’s celebrated sailing squad and a brand partner ahead of the America’s Cup 2025, which for the first time will be hosted in Naples. Typically housed at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese, this “gran turismo” beauty became a symbol of how deeply tradition and innovation are intertwined in Alfa Romeo’s world.

As the crowds lined the course and cheered both past legends and modern masterpieces, the enduring spirit of Alfa Romeo was once again affirmed. Just as Tazio Nuvolari once did in 1930—when he completed the race at an average speed of 100 km/h—today’s Alfa lineup proves that passion, precision, and boldness continue to define the soul of the brand.
