Rolls-Royce continues ‘Dare to Dream’ in 2025, mentoring 46 students and inspiring 600 Year 9 pupils across three West Sussex schools.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has completed its fifth consecutive year supporting the ‘Dare to Dream’ programme, reinforcing its commitment to empowering young people in West Sussex. In 2025, the initiative reached 46 students through one-to-one mentoring and around 600 Year 9 pupils via school assemblies across three local secondary schools.

Organised by the LoveLocalJobs Foundation, the programme focuses on helping teenagers build confidence, resilience and a sense of direction. Through mentoring sessions, workplace visits, and interactive workshops, students receive not just advice but access to real-world experiences that can shift their perception of what’s possible.

Rolls-Royce employees take on the role of mentors, bringing insights from across the business. As one mentor noted, it’s not only about guidance—it’s about being a trusted adult presence at a formative moment. These relationships often spark a deeper belief in personal potential among the participants.

Teachers say the workplace visits, in particular, made a strong impression. Students themselves described the experience as “eye-opening” and praised the mentors for their kindness and openness.

The company’s involvement goes beyond corporate goodwill. It’s part of a broader youth engagement strategy that positions Rolls-Royce as an active contributor to the community. While long-term outcomes are hard to quantify, the visible engagement, increased confidence, and enthusiastic feedback suggest that investments like this are already making a meaningful impact.
