Mercedes-Benz offers its Van Uptime Monitor Digital Extra free for midsize and large vans in Europe, helping owners reduce downtime with real-time diagnostics.

Mercedes-Benz continues to expand its digital support for commercial transport with the launch of the Van Uptime Monitor Digital Extra, a free tool designed for owners of midsize and large vans. This new feature aims to help businesses maximise the efficiency of their fleets by reducing unexpected downtime and making workshop visits easier to plan.

The service is available for the Vito, eVito, Sprinter and eSprinter models and is already being rolled out in several European markets, including Germany, the UK and Ireland. Through an online dashboard, owners get a clear picture of their vehicle's technical status — from oil levels and tyre pressure to potential front wheel imbalance. The system provides three levels of notifications: from simple self-maintenance tips to urgent warnings with automatic connection to the Customer Assistance Center.

Privacy remains a priority: using the Digital Extra requires agreeing to share diagnostic and geolocation data, which is processed via the Mercedes me account. Once the free period ends, the service can be extended for a fee through the official Mercedes-Benz Store, with prices depending on the vehicle’s model and configuration.

While the rollout is expanding across Europe, there is currently no detailed information about launching the Van Uptime Monitor outside the continent. Previously, the company outlined strategic plans to strengthen its commercial vehicle business in China and North America, but specifics about integrating new digital features in these markets have not been disclosed. So far, no public customer reviews of the Van Uptime Monitor Digital Extra have appeared.
