Experience the Mercedes-Benz Sommerort in Kampen, Sylt: test drives, workshops, local art, and electric models until August 31. Discover more now.

This summer, the island of Sylt has gained an alluring new spot for fans of the three-pointed star: from July 4 to August 31, Mercedes-Benz welcomes visitors to an exclusive Sommerort right in the heart of Kampen. This temporary brand space is set at the corner of Kurhausstraße and Hauptstraße, blending automotive prestige with the laid-back vibe of the North Sea coast.

The idea behind it is simple yet layered. Sommerort is not just a showroom for electric cars — it is a place where innovation meets regional identity and the unmistakable spirit of Sylt. On the dedicated display area, visitors can discover the latest all-electric models: the G 580 with EQ Technology and the new CLA. In the Fahrerlager zone, product experts offer detailed advice, assist with booking a test drive and help configure the ideal car. Culinary enthusiasts are catered for at the Boxenstopp, hosted by the well-known local restaurant Sturmhaube.

Those seeking inspiration and mindful relaxation find it at the Stern Studio, with yoga sessions and inspiring talks. Young guests have their own world in the Kinder Area, complete with slides and the beloved Bobbycar mini vehicles. Creative workshops in the Tüftler-Garage add an extra layer of local flair, while exhibitions featuring regional artists — and even works by Andy Warhol — show how art can meet automotive design in surprising ways.

Each week brings fresh experiences to Sommerort, as the event program evolves with new highlights. This keeps the space vibrant and underlines the organisers’ goal: to offer more than test drives or product showcases — to create a meeting point for ideas, technology and island lifestyle.

There is no official word yet on whether the Sommerort concept will return in the future. But it is already clear that this format is more than just a marketing tool — it reflects how Mercedes-Benz connects its innovations with sustainability and local authenticity in a thoughtful way.
