Ford Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition revealed
Ford and Troy Lee Designs present a limited Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition with unique graphics, GT-inspired design elements, and 550-unit production run.
Ford has introduced a limited-run Mustang EcoBoost styled by Troy Lee Designs—just 550 units—and it marks a rare case where a motorsports-inspired visual identity is directly applied to a production car.
The project is built around a collaboration with Troy Lee Designs, a brand that has shaped its reputation since 1981 through bold custom work in motocross and mountain biking. What began as hand-painted helmets in a garage has grown into a global design force known for its “Art and Speed” philosophy. That same visual language now defines this Mustang, with the focus placed squarely on design rather than performance changes.
The TLD Signature Edition is based on the Mustang EcoBoost, powered by a 2.3-liter turbocharged engine producing around 310–315 horsepower. At the same time, key exterior components—including the hood, front fascia, and grille—are borrowed from the Mustang GT. This approach blends the more accessible EcoBoost platform with the more aggressive styling of its V8 counterpart.
Visual identity is central to the package. Bright red, orange, purple, and yellow graphics are integrated into the bodywork, reinterpreting the iconic Mustang pony emblem. The car is offered exclusively in Shadow Black, enhancing contrast, while details such as the 19-inch wheels and grille accents are finished in Sinister Bronze. Inside, the cabin features Carmine Red trim along with a serialized badge.
The EcoBoost model itself remains a more accessible alternative to the V8-powered GT, offering a balance between performance and efficiency. By incorporating GT-derived design elements, this edition reflects a broader industry trend where manufacturers create distinct visual versions without altering the mechanical foundation.
Such projects increasingly serve as a way to expand a model’s appeal and introduce new design narratives without reengineering the platform. In the Mustang lineup, this strategy is already well established through various special editions and collaborations, and the TLD Signature Edition continues that pattern with a strong emphasis on individuality and limited availability.
The package is priced at $3,000, with orders opening on March 27, 2026, alongside other models in the updated Mustang lineup.
