Mercedes-Benz integrates Teams and 365 Copilot in CLA with MB.OS

Mercedes expands Microsoft partnership: new CLA gets Teams camera calls, Intune access, and 365 Copilot AI via MB.OS.
Mercedes-Benz is taking another significant step toward integrating digital services into everyday mobility with the launch of a new productivity ecosystem in its vehicles. The updated CLA is the first model equipped with the company’s proprietary MB.OS operating system, designed from the ground up to seamlessly incorporate Microsoft tools—from Teams to 365 Copilot.
One of the standout features is the enhanced version of the Meetings for Microsoft Teams app. With this upgrade, users can now join video calls on the go using the car’s built-in camera. To ensure driver safety, the system disables shared screen visuals for the driver and automatically turns off the video feed when the camera is activated. The app also features voice control, an updated interface with a “Next Meetings” function, and quick access to frequent contacts.
The integration of Microsoft Intune into MB.OS represents a new level of secure enterprise connectivity. Business users can log into their work accounts without compromising data security. Intune enables a clear separation of personal and professional data while allowing IT administrators to centrally manage access policies, just as they would for corporate smartphones.
Equally noteworthy is the collaboration with Microsoft on bringing Microsoft 365 Copilot into the vehicle. This AI-powered assistant will support voice-based interactions, from meeting preparation to email summaries and task management. As the first implementation of the 365 Copilot API in a vehicle, it aims to turn the car into a fully functional “third workspace,” alongside the office and home.
The rollout of these features is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2025, initially in Europe and the United States. Mercedes-Benz confirms that the CLA marks just the starting point, with MB.OS gradually expanding to additional models. Some features will require the Entertainment Package Plus and internet connectivity.
As of now, user feedback and expert assessments are not yet available, as the launch is just beginning. Still, this level of deep integration between business tools and vehicle interfaces could signal a new direction for mobile productivity in the future.
