Genesis introduces the GV70 Prestige Graphite trim with dark exterior accents, carbon fiber interior and new colors, ahead of its debut in New York.

Genesis has expanded its Prestige Graphite lineup by bringing the package to the GV70 SUV, one of the brand’s key models. For a vehicle that already plays a major role in Genesis sales, this move signals not a technical overhaul but a focused attempt to strengthen its visual identity.

The new version emphasizes a darker, more performance-oriented design. The GV70 features 21-inch dark glossy wheels, red brake calipers, and a combination of black and dark chrome exterior accents. Together, these elements shift the perception of the SUV, giving it a more assertive and athletic appearance while retaining its original platform.

This decision aligns with the GV70’s strong position in the lineup. With nearly 27,000 units sold in 2024, it stands as one of Genesis’s most popular models. Expanding a design-focused trim to an SUV reflects broader market demand, where crossovers continue to outperform sedans. The transfer of the Prestige Graphite concept from the G70 sedan to the GV70 highlights the brand’s strategy of scaling successful design ideas across higher-volume models.

Inside, the same contrast-driven approach continues. The cabin features Nappa leather with suede inserts, carbon fiber trim, and signature elements such as embossed headrests. A unique startup animation adds a distinct touch, reinforcing the sense of a dedicated trim rather than a standard configuration.

Under the surface, the mechanical setup remains unchanged. The GV70 continues to offer a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine producing around 300 horsepower, as well as a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 delivering about 375 horsepower. All-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission remain standard. Diesel variants are available in certain markets, along with an electrified version offering an estimated range of approximately 445–455 km. No performance or structural changes specific to the Prestige Graphite trim have been confirmed.

New exterior colors, including Ceres Blue Matte and Bering Blue, further differentiate the model visually, alongside existing options such as Makalu Gray and Uyuni White. Altogether, the update positions the trim as a design-focused enhancement rather than a technical upgrade.

The 2027 GV70 Prestige Graphite will be shown at the New York International Auto Show from April 3 to 12, 2026. Pricing and availability details have not yet been announced.
