Maserati and Bianchet presented the UltraFino tourbillon watch at Watches and Wonders 2026, marking the Trident’s 100th anniversary. Explore key details.

Maserati and Swiss watchmaker Bianchet have unveiled the UltraFino Maserati, a flying tourbillon timepiece limited to just 100 pieces, created to mark the 100th anniversary of the Trident emblem. The watch made its debut at Watches and Wonders 2026 in Geneva, one of the key global stages for haute horlogerie.

The collaboration goes beyond visual references, aiming to merge two engineering philosophies. At its core is the ultra-thin automatic Bianchet UT01 calibre, measuring 3.85 mm in thickness, offering a 60-hour power reserve and featuring a 60-second flying tourbillon. The movement consists of 225 components and is engineered to withstand shocks up to 5,000 G — a rare specification for a mechanism of this profile. Its architecture follows the principles of the Golden Ratio, a defining element of Bianchet’s design approach.

The significance of the project extends beyond watchmaking. The UltraFino Maserati is directly linked to the Maserati MCPURA supercar, introduced in 2025. Powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo Nettuno V6 producing 630 hp, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in under 2.9 seconds and is built around a carbon-fibre monocoque. These engineering choices are reflected in the watch: a skeletonised dial inspired by wheel architecture and the Trident motif, along with the use of carbon and titanium materials.

This crossover reflects a broader industry trend. Partnerships such as TAG Heuer and Porsche or Bugatti and Jacob & Co. have demonstrated how automotive design and watchmaking increasingly evolve in parallel. In this context, UltraFino Maserati represents another example of a product conceived as part of a unified design language rather than a standalone object.

The historical dimension adds further weight. The Maserati Trident first appeared in 1926 on the Tipo 26 and was inspired by the Fountain of Neptune in Bologna. The centenary of this emblem provides the foundation for the limited series, with each piece produced by hand in La Chaux-de-Fonds.

Its presentation at Watches and Wonders — a major watch industry event featuring dozens of brands — reinforces the project’s positioning. Here, collaborations like this are not merely stylistic exercises but demonstrate how high-end mechanical watchmaking and automotive engineering are increasingly speaking the same language.
