Mazda North American Operations details the standard safety and driver assistance technologies featured in the all-new 2026 CX-5 model.

Mazda North American Operations has released updated details on the safety systems of the all-new 2026 Mazda CX-5, emphasizing an expanded range of standard driver assistance technologies. According to the company, safety remains a core focus of the model’s development alongside everyday usability.

The new CX-5 is equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems that come standard across all trims. These include forward and rear automatic emergency braking, turn-across traffic braking for left-hand turns, emergency lane keeping assistance, blind spot assist, traffic sign recognition, and Mazda Radar Cruise Control with speed limit support. Together, these technologies are designed to detect potential hazards and support drivers in both routine and complex driving scenarios.

Additional updates further enhance everyday driving support. Mazda highlights improvements to the 360-degree surround-view camera system, smoother operation of adaptive cruise control, and the introduction of lane change assist. These refinements are intended to reduce driver workload and increase confidence in various traffic conditions.

The safety performance of the new CX-5 has been validated through independent testing. The model achieved a five-star rating from Euro NCAP, with strong scores for adult and child occupant protection, vulnerable road user safety, and the effectiveness of its active safety systems.

As part of its third generation, the Mazda CX-5 has grown in overall length and wheelbase, contributing to increased interior space and luggage capacity. Mazda notes that both structural development and electronic safety technologies serve a broader objective of reducing accidents and minimizing the impact of collisions.

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 is expected to reach North American markets in the coming months, with European availability planned for late 2025 to early 2026. Mazda positions the updated CX-5 as a strong contender in the compact SUV segment, combining confirmed safety performance with practical everyday features.
