Opel has announced the production of the 500,000th Mokka at its Poissy plant in France, highlighting the model’s role, technology updates and ongoing market relevance.

Opel has reached a significant production milestone as the 500,000th Opel Mokka rolled off the assembly line at the Poissy plant in France. For the brand, the figure represents more than a symbolic number, reflecting sustained demand for a model that has played a central role in Opel’s modern product strategy since the launch of its second generation in February 2021.

The Mokka has become one of Opel’s defining vehicles, helping to establish the brand’s new design language and a more expressive visual identity. As a compact B-SUV, it stands out through its distinctive styling while serving as a platform for the company’s latest digital and connectivity technologies.

Production of the updated Mokka began in late 2024, introducing further developments in both design and technology. Central to the update is a new infotainment system based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Platform and Snapdragon Auto Connectivity Platform, delivering enhanced graphics, multimedia performance and advanced connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G.

As standard, the Mokka features a 10-inch digital driver display alongside a 10-inch central touchscreen. The interface is designed around smartphone-style widgets, supports extensive personalisation and allows for wireless smartphone integration. When equipped with the built-in navigation system, map updates are delivered over the air, while the system can adapt to the driver’s habits by suggesting routes and destinations.

Opel has also introduced ChatGPT for the Mokka in combination with Connected Navigation, expanding the vehicle’s information and assistance capabilities and underlining the brand’s focus on digital services within the compact SUV segment.

The Mokka is produced at the Poissy site, one of France’s longest-established automotive plants, which has been in operation since 1940. In recent years, the facility has been transformed into a centre for compact SUV production and has built up expertise in electric vehicles, having started EV manufacturing in 2019.

The 500,000th Opel Mokka is being handed over to a customer, marking a moment that Opel sees as confirmation of continued customer confidence. At the same time, registration figures in key European markets such as Germany indicate that the Mokka remains a relevant contender in the highly competitive B-SUV class, even as market conditions grow increasingly challenging.
