The 2026 Genesis G70 Prestige Graphite has been named Luxury Vehicle of Texas, marking the fourth consecutive win for Genesis in this category. The award was decided by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) following real-world driving evaluations conducted during its annual test event.

The model stood out for its blend of performance and refinement. Judges evaluated vehicles based on interior, exterior, on-road performance and overall appeal. The G70 was recognized for its precise handling, linear power delivery and high level of craftsmanship—qualities often associated with more established European competitors.

This recognition carries broader significance beyond a single model. Genesis has now secured the Luxury Vehicle of Texas title four years in a row, reinforcing its growing presence in one of the largest automotive markets in the United States. The results are determined by automotive journalists rather than marketing bodies, adding credibility to the outcome.

The G70 Prestige Graphite is powered by a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 producing around 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and offered with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. A sport electronically controlled suspension contributes to its balance between comfort and handling.

The model competes in the compact luxury sedan segment, traditionally dominated by vehicles such as the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. Since its debut in 2017, the Genesis G70 has been positioned as an alternative to these models and has previously earned major industry recognition, including the North American Car of the Year award.

The evaluation took place during the Texas Auto Roundup, an annual event where journalists test a wide range of new vehicles and vote on category winners. In previous editions, more than 30 vehicles were tested, highlighting the competitive field in which winners are selected.

The 2026 G70 Prestige Graphite starts at $56,900 and is available at Genesis retailers across the United States. Given Genesis’ consistent performance in Texas, the model is likely to further strengthen the brand’s position in the premium sedan segment.
