Skoda presents Epiq electric SUV at Milan Design Week 2026
Skoda presents the Epiq electric SUV at Milan Design Week 2026 through an immersive installation. Explore design, features and concept behind the new EV.
Škoda is bringing more than a new electric car to Milan—it is building an entire interactive world around it. At Milan Design Week 2026, the brand will unveil its compact electric SUV, the Epiq, through an immersive installation rather than a traditional product display.
The exhibition will run from April 21 to 26 at Palazzo del Senato, placing Škoda inside one of the world’s largest design events. For carmakers, this setting has become more than a showcase—it is a platform to position themselves as design-driven brands. Here, the Epiq is presented not just as a vehicle, but as a concept shaped through experience.
At the center is the Epiq itself, a compact all-electric crossover about 4.1 meters long, offering a range of up to 425–430 km and targeting a starting price of roughly €25,000–26,000. It is intended to become Škoda’s most affordable electric model and plays a key role in the company’s plan to expand its EV lineup in 2026. The model is also part of Volkswagen Group’s broader Electric Urban Car Family strategy.
In Milan, the car appears as Epiq Sculpt—a tactile, hand-moulded interpretation that highlights its form. The entire installation draws inspiration from modelling clay, reinforcing themes of accessibility, creativity and flexibility.
The project was developed with Spanish designer Ricardo Orts, founder of Ulises Studio, known for combining architecture, digital art and immersive environments. His approach shapes the exhibition into a sequence of interactive zones—from a digital dome with immersive content to spaces for rest, learning and hands-on creativity.
Visitors are encouraged to engage rather than observe. They can create a personalised AI avatar, join modelling workshops, attend Epiq Talks or take part in yoga sessions. Dedicated areas for children underline the inclusive nature of the installation.
This format reflects the positioning of the Epiq itself. Designed as an accessible urban EV, it is introduced through an open and interactive experience rather than a purely technical presentation. At the same time, it highlights a broader shift: carmakers increasingly use design events to communicate new models through experience, not just specifications.
The next step for the Epiq will be its market launch, where it will enter the growing segment of affordable urban electric vehicles, including competitors within the Volkswagen Group.
