Mercedes-Benz has launched the new electric VLE with over 700 km range, 800V charging and flexible interior. Learn key specs and features of the new model.

More than 700 kilometres of range and up to 355 kilometres added in just 15 minutes — with these figures, Mercedes-Benz is bringing the new electric VLE to market, now open for orders in Germany. The model launches a new Grand Limousines lineup and becomes the first production vehicle built on the brand’s dedicated electric van architecture.

At launch, two versions of the VLE 300 electric are available, both equipped with a 115 kWh battery and delivering 203 kW of output. One comes with the Advanced Plus Package, while the other is offered as an EXCLUSIVE version with the Premium Plus Package. Even the initial configurations include features such as AIRMATIC air suspension, the Sky View panoramic roof, THERMOTRONIC climate control and acoustic glass, while the higher specification adds the MBUX Superscreen, DIGITAL LIGHT, Burmester sound system and extended comfort functions.

For Mercedes-Benz, this model represents more than a simple addition to the range. The VLE is positioned as a redefinition of the segment, combining the space and flexibility of an MPV with the ride comfort and digital experience of a limousine. This is reflected in its proportions — over 5.3 metres in length — and in its interior concept, which supports up to eight seats. The cabin can be reconfigured manually using the Roll & Go system or remotely via Remote Variable Rear Space, offering predefined modes for luggage, executive seating or mixed use.

The technical setup is centred around an 800-volt architecture. Fast DC charging with up to 300 kW allows a significant increase in range within a short stop, while the claimed 713 kilometres WLTP range places the VLE among the longest-range vehicles in its class. The platform was designed as a purpose-built electric architecture, contributing to an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.25.

Pricing for the launch versions starts at 82,260 euros in Germany. Additional variants will follow later in 2026, including more accessible VLE 300 configurations. In 2027, the lineup is set to expand further with a longer version, a VLE 400 4MATIC and a VLE 250 equipped with an 80 kWh battery, positioned as the entry-level option.

The VLE therefore serves as the foundation for a broader product family, where long range, fast charging and interior flexibility define a new category between family vehicles and premium shuttle transport.
