Zeekr has confirmed plans to bring the 9X premium SUV to Malaysia in 2026–2027, outlining key performance figures, electric range and positioning.

Chinese automaker Zeekr is preparing to bring its new flagship SUV, the Zeekr 9X, to the Malaysian market, with a launch expected in late 2026 or early 2027. According to representatives of Zeekr’s local operations, the model is planned as the brand’s next major step in expanding its premium presence outside China.

The Zeekr 9X is positioned as a full-size luxury SUV and currently stands as the most technologically advanced vehicle in the company’s lineup. It is built on the new SEA-S architecture and features the SEA Super Hybrid system with a 900-volt electrical platform. The combined output of the powertrain is quoted at around 1,000 kW, enabling the large SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds.

Electric performance plays a central role in the 9X concept. In pure electric mode, the vehicle is capable of covering up to 380 kilometers under the CLTC cycle. Thanks to the high-voltage system, the battery can be recharged from 20 to 80 percent in roughly nine minutes, underlining Zeekr’s focus on combining performance with everyday usability and lower running costs.

Within the brand’s portfolio, the 9X will sit at the very top, with pricing expected to be significantly higher than that of the Zeekr 009, which is already available in Malaysia. This positioning clearly places the new model in the upper tier of the premium SUV segment.

With its blend of high output, extended electric range, and fast charging capability, the Zeekr 9X is set to play a strategic role in the brand’s ambitions in Southeast Asia, where demand for advanced hybrid and electric luxury vehicles continues to gain momentum.
