Skoda presents the Elroq RS, a 340 hp electric SUV with 550 km range, fast charging, and sporty RS styling. Premiered at Milan Design Week 2025.

Skoda’s journey into electrification reaches a confident stride with the Elroq. This new model reveals a brand that has learned to balance tech-savviness, everyday comfort, and clever practicality — all without losing the human touch. Elroq doesn’t shout for attention, but it has enough ambition not to fade into the background, even alongside far more expensive competitors.

Exterior and Design: Restrained Confidence

Skoda continues to refine its design language. The Elroq features a refreshed badge and distinctive lighting signatures — with a split-level headlight design that gives the front end a sharp, modern presence. On RS versions, sporty cues like the glossy black Tech-Deck Face grille and optional 21-inch wheels bring a sense of attitude. Still, even the base variants come across as understated and versatile — in the best possible way.

The rear is more conservative — minimalist and familiar, echoing the current Skoda family look. Yet, everything feels deliberate, and the aerodynamics, both in perception and performance, seem well considered.

Interior: Built for Daily Comfort

Step inside, and you’re greeted with a cabin that closely resembles the Enyaq — a definite compliment. The materials feel soft and durable, the layout is tidy, and the ergonomics are very much in line with VW Group standards. The digital driver display may seem compact, but an optional head-up display is available for those who want more. A 13-inch central touchscreen handles climate and infotainment, and while physical buttons would be nice, the interface proves user-friendly.

Comfort features include adaptive suspension with fine-tuning capability, and a collection of “Simply Clever” details: bottle holders with grippers, cubbyholes for small items, hidden storage, and even a removable ice scraper tucked into the door. The rear seats are roomy, with a flat floor, ISOFIX mounts, and large door bins — all designed with real family use in mind. Notably, installing a child seat is refreshingly easy.

Practicality: Logic in the Details

The Elroq’s trunk holds 470 liters in its standard form, expandable to 1,580 liters with the rear seats folded. A hands-free tailgate is available, as is a QR code in the boot that links to a video user guide. Additional touches include a sliding armrest, ski pass-through, and hidden underfloor compartments — Skoda remains loyal to its practicality-first DNA.

One drawback is the lack of a front trunk (frunk), which feels like a missed opportunity on this EV platform. Still, interior space is efficiently used, with clever storage under the rear floor to compensate.

On the Road: Calm and Capable

The Elroq delivers a composed and confident driving experience. With the optional adaptive suspension, it can be tailored for either plush cruising or firmer response. The 85 version manages 0–100 km/h in under 6 seconds (tested at 5.88 s), and comes to a halt from 100 km/h in just 33 meters. Drivers can adjust the regenerative braking levels manually or let the system auto-optimize for efficiency.

No, it’s not an adrenaline junkie’s EV. But in urban settings, it’s agile and whisper-quiet; on highways, it's stable and relaxing. Real-world range hovers around 435 km (270 miles) — roughly 76% of its official WLTP claim, and in line with segment norms.

In its 85 trim with adaptive suspension, the Skoda Elroq stands out as one of the most well-rounded EVs in its class. It’s a car that reflects thoughtful evolution — from design to drivetrain to daily use. Skoda isn’t chasing headlines with radical reinvention; instead, it delivers intelligent, user-focused progress. And in the Elroq, that philosophy is visible in every detail.
