Mercedes-Benz Unveils Electric GLC at IAA Mobility 2025

Mercedes-Benz presents the all-new electric GLC with EQ Technology at IAA Mobility 2025, featuring 650 km WLTP range, 800V architecture, and rapid charging.
Mercedes-Benz is set to unveil the fully electric GLC with EQ Technology at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich. The world premiere will take place on September 7, with public viewing scheduled from September 9 to 14. This launch marks the beginning of a new era for the brand and is part of Mercedes-Benz’s largest-ever product rollout.
The electric GLC is built on the new MB.EA platform, designed specifically for mid-size electric vehicles. It features an 800-volt architecture supporting rapid DC charging of up to 320 kW. According to official data, a 10-minute charge can add approximately 260 km of range, with a total driving distance of up to 650 km (WLTP). The vehicle is equipped with a 94.5 kWh battery that uses silicon-anode technology to enhance energy density and efficiency.
At launch, the GLC 400 4MATIC version will be available with all-wheel drive and a towing capacity of up to 2.4 tonnes. A rear-wheel-drive variant with maximum range is also expected. The wheelbase has been extended by 80 mm compared to the current model, providing more cabin space and cargo room. The trunk now offers 570 liters of storage, expanding to 1,740 liters with the seats folded, plus a 128-liter front trunk.
The optional Agility & Comfort package introduces AIRMATIC air suspension and rear-axle steering, elevating the ride quality to that of higher-end Mercedes-Benz models. Prototypes of the electric GLC underwent rigorous winter testing in Sweden, demonstrating system reliability under extreme cold conditions.
Sales are projected to start in early 2026, with production planned in Germany and China. Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that the electric GLC will directly compete with BMW’s next-generation iX3 and represents a pivotal step in the brand’s transition to an all-electric lineup.
