As 2025 draws to a close, Lexus is marking the year as a period when long-term strategy began to take visible shape through products, partnerships, and on-track results. The brand’s year in review frames 2025 as a moment of acceleration, with electrification at its core, but supported by design evolution, lifestyle positioning, and motorsports credibility.

The clearest expression of this shift is the all-new eighth-generation Lexus ES. For the first time in the model’s history, ES is offered not only as a hybrid but also as a fully battery-electric vehicle. More than a routine update, the redesigned sedan reflects Lexus’ next design and technology phase, drawing directly from the LF-ZC BEV concept and aligning with the brand’s broader plan to introduce multiple new electric models ahead of 2026.

Lexus also strengthened its electric crossover lineup with substantial updates to the 2026 Lexus RZ. A reworked battery-electric system brings higher output, extended estimated driving range, and faster charging under ideal conditions. The introduction of the RZ 550e F SPORT AWD adds a performance-oriented layer to the range, signaling that Lexus intends its BEVs to deliver both efficiency and driving engagement.

Product expansion has been matched by infrastructure and ownership-focused initiatives. During 2025, Lexus broadened access to DC fast-charging networks, introduced Plug & Charge capability, and enabled Apple Maps EV Routing through Apple CarPlay. These measures highlight a growing emphasis on everyday usability, aiming to reduce friction for electric vehicle owners beyond the vehicle itself.

Electrification reached the flagship SUV segment with the arrival of the Lexus LX 700h, the first hybrid version of the model. Its launch reflects Lexus’ approach to integrating electrified powertrains into large, high-capability vehicles while preserving the characteristics expected in this class.

Alongside technology-driven updates, Lexus leaned into exclusivity and heritage. Limited-run LC Inspiration Series models and the LS Heritage Edition highlighted the brand’s flagship identity, while the refreshed Lexus IS adopted a sharper appearance and made a public debut in a motorsports setting at Petit Le Mans.

Beyond vehicles, Lexus continued to expand its cultural footprint. Collaborations spanning gastronomy, surfing, film, and fashion — including its multi-year partnership with the World Surf League — reinforced the brand’s positioning within contemporary lifestyle and creative communities.

Motorsports remained a parallel narrative. The Lexus Vasser Sullivan team secured a podium finish at the Petit Le Mans season finale, marking another strong result in IMSA competition and underlining the brand’s sustained presence in endurance racing.

Taken together, Lexus’ 2025 review presents a brand in the midst of structured transformation. Electrification, design evolution, customer experience, and cultural engagement converge to define a direction that extends into 2026 — not through abrupt reinvention, but through steady, deliberate momentum.
