BMW M2 CS (2025): The return of a cult classic


BMW’s highlight was the long-awaited M2 CS. The coupe features a straight-six M TwinPower Turbo engine producing 390 kW (530 hp) and 650 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a limited top speed of 302 km/h. Standard equipment includes forged 19” front and 20” rear wheels, a carbon roof, and a sporty aero kit. In China, prices start at RMB 808,000. Production will be limited, with assembly taking place in Mexico.

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet: Hybrid open-top driving


Mercedes chose Chengdu for the debut of the AMG CLE 53 Cabriolet, announcing a price of RMB 780,000. The car combines traditional cabriolet elegance with cutting-edge AMG technology: a six-cylinder mild-hybrid engine, AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive, and standard rear-axle steering. A nine-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT gearbox and AMG RIDE CONTROL suspension ensure both agility and comfort.

Voyah Dreamer 2026: A minivan with jet-like ambitions


Dongfeng’s premium sub-brand introduced the updated Voyah Dreamer. Pre-sales opened during the show, priced between RMB 389,900 and 459,900. The company reported over 10,000 orders within the first hour. Offered in both PHEV and BEV versions, the Dreamer features an 800-volt architecture, 5C ultra-fast charging, and even a “tank turn” function. Inside, passengers enjoy zero-gravity seats with massage and ventilation, panoramic sunroofs, and upscale materials.

Zeekr 9X: An electric SUV aiming for autonomy


The flagship Zeekr 9X stood out as one of Chengdu’s stars. Pre-sales began on August 29 with three trims—Max, Ultra, and Hyper—priced from RMB 479,900 to 569,900. In the first hour, tens of thousands of reservations were placed, highlighting strong demand. Built on the SEA-S platform, the 9X integrates the G-Pilot system, ready for Level 3 autonomous functions, pending regulatory approval.

Chery A9L: A new flagship for China’s mainstream brand


Chery showcased its premium sedan A9L, also known as the Fulwin A9L. Pre-orders started in June, and the official launch followed in July 2025. Over 35,000 firm orders were confirmed within the first hour of release. Measuring 5.02 meters long with a 3-meter wheelbase, the A9L achieves a drag coefficient of 0.23 and offers a refined interior with multi-layer zero-gravity seats, panoramic sunroofs, and high-quality materials.
